For my 2012 Year in Review series, I knew I had to grab this lovely lady for her essential input. Nancy Lu, recent Brooklyn resident via DC, has her hands in many influential musical arenas, like All Things Go and Discobelle, to name a few. Not only do I think she’s a total babe, but she has this super extensive knowledge about music I always seem to miss along the way. Here’s her rundown of the best of 2012:
“It’s difficult to fit all of the music from this year nicely into a five song box. It’s kind of like when someone asks you what five things you would bring with you if you were stranded on a deserted island – a toothbrush, underwear, Swiss Army Knife, the whole Swiss Family Robinson so they can build me a treehouse? I guess what I’m getting at is that I would bring the essentials. And apparently I couldn’t quite narrow the list down to five. So here are my TEN essential, must-listen-to-if-you-haven’t-already-listened-to-them-on-repeat-forever tracks of 2012. They span all genres because at the end of the day, good music is good music.”

Goldroom – “Fifteen (feat. Chela)”
